Area Information - Mono, Ontario

Shaped by the Niagara Escarpment and glacial deposits of the Oakville and Orangeville moraines, Mono's rolling, tree-covered hills are criss-crossed by small streams and creeks which form the headwaters of three major rivers - the Humber, the Nottawasaga and the Credit. The Hockley Valley, running northeast from Highway #10 right across the Town, is well-known for its natural beauty.

Mono's approximately 6,900 residents make their homes on farms, rural estates and in small settlements, and include the farming community, local businesses, commuters to neighbouring towns and cities, and weekenders who escape from the urban bustle to the serenity of the countryside.
